LEGO® House to appoint new Managing Director this summer

Jesper Vilstrup steps down after seven years, Kathrine Kirk Muff to assume role during the summer

Billund, 11 February 2022:  LEGO® House, Home of the Brick, today announced it will appoint a new Managing Director. Kathrine Kirk Muff will join LEGO House from her current role as VP, Head of Social Responsibility at the LEGO Group.

Kathrine will assume the role during the summer, taking over from Jesper Vilstrup who has held the position for the past seven years. Jesper led the construction and development of LEGO House, its opening and establishing as an award-winning, international destination.

Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen said: “We are very grateful for everything Jesper has done to make our dream for a LEGO House a reality. Thanks to his dedication and passion for our mission, we have a wonderful house in Billund which builders of all ages, from all corners of the world enjoy visiting. We wish him all the very best for his next adventure.”

I am grateful for my journey with LEGO House and especially for the awesome, creative and playful team who so passionately live the vision that LEGO House should be a world-class LEGO Experience and at the same time be an awesome place to work. I can proudly hand over the baton to a new Managing Director and chase my next adventure knowing that the dream and vision for the “Home of the Brick” is a reality in good hands.”

Kathrine Kirk Muff brings to the role more than 13 years’ experience with the LEGO Group and KIRKBI. In her current role she leads the company’s social responsibility team and has among other areas been responsible for establishing partnerships with UNICEF, Save the Children and more than 200 local community engagement programmes focussed on learning through play and supporting families and children.

Jesper has established a state-of-the art brand experience and I can’t wait to work with the team to dream even bigger. Always striving to create a world class LEGO experience for all guests, before, during and after their visit to LEGO House.”

Kathrine joined the LEGO Group in 2008 as a corporate counsel. Since then, she has held a wide range of roles in Human Resources, KIRKBI and Ole Kirk’s Fond as well as two years in Shanghai establishing the brand’s social responsibility presence in China. She sits on the boards of the Danish Red Cross and the Danish Hospital Clowns and holds an executive MBA from IMD business school and Master of Laws from Aarhus University.
